The Classic Wideleg + Leharia Watermelon Pink
Redolent of the pink lehariya saris worn by women to celebrate the Rajasthani monsoon festival, this relaxed number is a classic favourite. As the story goes, if the pink comes off on your skin, you'd be loved forever.
Model is a US Size 4-6, wears Matter Size 1. 175cm tall.
Long pleat details add a structured elegance to the flow of the pants. Deep pockets are hidden along the seams for functionality, and a four-button closure ensures flexibility of wearing.
100% organic cotton poplin. A plain weave with fine horizontal ribs, the fabric is strong and tightly woven but lightweight, making it less susceptible to wrinkling than other cotton fabrics. Dyed with azo-free dyes.
Wash separately in first few washes to prevent colour runs. After that, machine wash with similar colours. For best results, handwash cold or use delicate machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Line dry inside-out. Cool iron inside-out.
My 3rd pair of Matter pants! Had to add a few buttons to get a better fit, but comfortable to wear and stunning
Love it! My second pair as the first one bought 4 years ago is very very very well loved!
Love the effortless style and colour of this piece. It has some fabric scruffing over the initial month but a beautiful pair of pants nonetheless.
The pattern and colour are beautiful and it’s truly comfortable for everyday wear! However, I might alter the sides so the pants are less wide because right now the cut isn’t the most flattering for my pear shape
I've had my eye on these pants for quite some time and finally pulled the trigger. I had held off because I am unsure of Matter's sizing, and could not get a response from customer service. They have a size 3 in their size chart, which I think I would be more comfortable in, but never seems to be available. I just fit into the size 2 measurements. I already have the sideswept dhoti in a 2 as well and it is a bit too small in the hips/butt. I thought since these were a wide leg, they would fit better. I do love the pattern and style, but I wish the waistband was thicker and the rise higher. They sit at a weird place on my hips, and the front pleats poof out and make it look like I have more of a belly than I do. I had my tailor move one of the buttons in so they fit a bit more comfy around my hips. Overall they are a beautiful pant, and I love matter's story, so I will keep them and just wear longer shirts to cover the pleat poof, but I would probably stay away from these if you are curvier like me as they didn't end up being worth the price (especially with the exchange rate and duties). For reference I am 5'6", 155 lbs, waist 32" hips 42".
