The Sideswept Dhoti + Meherab
Khushiram, our fifth generation blockprinting artisan partner, created this print when he was studying in design college. He took to the palaces of Jaipur and was drawn to the arch of the doors, curves swimming one after another leaving ripples of lines in the shadows.
Model is a US Size 4-6, wears Matter Size 1. 170cm tall.
Wrap around the waist or hip for a snug final fit. Elegant and effortless, the gentle folds from the side pocket are balanced with side darts to give a skimming effect. 100% organic cotton twill.
Woven with a diagonal warp with horizontal wefts, it has a durable quality and wrinkles and creases less easily. Dyed with azo-free dyes.
Wash separately in first few washes to prevent colour runs. After that, machine wash with similar colours. For best results, handwash cold or use delicate machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Line dry inside out. Cool iron inside-out.
Got these in Trikora at first, absolutely love the Trikora — even after 3 years and many washes! The cut for this one though is not like the Trikora. Odd pockets of spaces here and there. Not flattering and the colour comes off. It’s probably done using a different tenchnique. Not sure.
Hey Val, thank you for your feedback! Our Sideswept Dhoti + Meherab is made using the Blockprint technique while our Trikora is made using the Ikat technique (: To prevent color run, we recommend the first wash to be hand washed separately. The subsequent washes should have no issues. The fit of all our Sideswept Dhoti is the same though we understand that it may seem different due to the different fabrics used. We hope this helps and please feel free to write in to email@example.com if you need further assistance. We would love to help!
Love love love love love!!
I do wish they were longer, but I am tall and we're in Asia so understand that's unlikely.
This is my first pair of sideswept dhoti and certainly not my last. The Meherab print is simply gorgeous. It looks fun, yet not too casual. And I love how it looks so me when I wear it!
The Sideswept Dhoti is pretty much all I wear now because it's so comfy and so easy to drape around your body. The Meherab might just be the prettiest print (and this is saying something for someone who only likes to wear monotone colours).
Love the style, colour and print.
Looks fab on.
