So far we’ve had travel-friendly alternatives, jumpsuits you can actually go to the bathroom in, and even one that’s business casual party friendly (think Friday wear) – but this one is made for work. Our equivalent of a power suit, if you will.
Handloomed in black and white, this detail resembles the typical pinstripe pattern of men’s shirts. The fabric is of a slightly looser weave, and it is this lower density that gives it a comfortable, soft handfeel and texture which only deepens with every wear.
The top of the jumpsuit is a wrap style, meaning its fit is completely adjustable to your body. Plus it comes with a button closure just in case you want a little more coverage. The pants are the same silhouette you know and love from the Classic Wideleg; deep pockets hidden along the seams for functionality, and a four-button closure to ensure flexibility of wearing. 100% medium weight cotton. Selectively bundled and dyed by hand with azo-free dyes, the threads are then handloomed. Colour and weaving variations may occur, as it is a part of its charm.
Wash separately the first few washes to prevent colour runs. After that, machine wash with similar colours. For best results, handwash cold or use delicate machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Line dry inside-out. Cool iron inside-out.
The Work Jumpsuit + Hairline Stripe
This is my favorite outfit ever!
The only issue is that it is a touch long on me. Walking around at home when someone was mopping the floor I got a tiny bit of bleach on the bottom of the pant leg--I will have to have it hemmed. But this is still my favorite.
I adored this jumpsuit the moment it was launched. I was lucky enough to try it on at Kapok Singapore before making the commitment during Matter's summer sale. I love the look and feel of the fabric---it's so soft but dressy, and this is easily the comfiest thing I own. What's not great, though, is the fit of the wrap top---I'm a 34C and the 31-inch bust on the size 1 just absolutely cannot stay closed at the button. I don't mind showing a bit of cleavage, but the moment I sit or hunch, the fabric just gapes open to expose my bra. The armholes are also huge. I can only wear this top with a camisole. I considered sizing up to a 2, but I would've been swimming in fabric because the pants were already rather roomy and long for me at size 1 (I'm 160cm tall and usually wear size 1 in Matter pants). The fit isn't great, but I really like how the fabric feels on me so I decided to buy it anyway---I don't mind only being able to wear it with a camisole inside, I can work with that. Important to note, though: unlike other Matter jumpsuits, you can't pee in these without having to untie the top and take it off. I wish the product description would be more forthcoming with these details.
I love the way the bottom half of the jumpsuit fits -- perfect for my UK size 10 hips. The length was also perfect -- just grazing the floor. I'm 160cm. Love the pockets and the fabric and the fact that there's a button at the decolletage. But the top half was too loose. I usually wear UK size 8. The armholes were gaping although I tried wrapping the top tightly, loosely and in-between. This is going back since I can't be bothered to wear a camisole beneath, and the top just doesn't fall nicely on me.
