This edition of the Sideswept Dhoti comes in a subtle Graph Grey, a chambray weave using black thread on the warp and white on the weft, creating the illusion of a grey fabric. Appearing like points on graph paper, this soft chambray fabric was handloomed in Andhra Pradesh by rural handloom cooperative Dastkar Andhra.
Model is a US Size 4, wears Matter Size 1. 174cm tall.
PS. Due to the make of this particular Handloom fabric, this pair fits just a little bit smaller than our regular size 1s.
Wrap around the waist or hip for a snug final fit. Elegant and effortless, the gentle folds from the side pocket are balanced with side darts to give a skimming effect.
100% light weight cotton. Soft and breathable. Colour and weaving variations may occur, part of the charm of handloomed fabrics.
Changes in colour and structure with exposure to natural surroundings, washing or wearing may occur.
Wash separately in first few washes to prevent colour runs. After that, machine wash with similar colours. For best results, handwash cold or use delicate machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Line dry inside-out. Cool iron inside-out.
The pants are a great style. I bought the #2 but they were too large and I exchanged them for a #1 that are too small.
I was so happy to get it but it was too large for me. I gave it to my daughter and I got a second one that fit me.
The Sideswept Dhoti + Handloom Graph Grey
Definitely size up in this, the sizing of this handloom version is really off. This is my second pair of sideswept dhoti (my first one in silk fits beautifully and loose in size 1), and I ordered the same size from another shop online thinking the fit would be the same, but it is tight at the calves, and when I sit or try to squat, it feels like the seams could tear. There is also very little cloth left to tie a knot at the waist. Quite a disappointment compared with my other two pairs of sideswept dhoti (one in silk and one in organic cotton).
According to the size chart I should be a size 1, but I decided to go up to a 2 because I'm muscular through the glutes and thighs. Glad I did because even the size up is a close call. They fit, but they aren't quite as easy breezy as I was going for. I have to be careful squatting because my upper thighs threaten to hulk out of them. They are cute though.
