A composed repeat of lines in their parallel, this motif was created by Srinath, our master weaver who taught us the intricate ropes of ikat. Named after the village he calls home, the Koya motif is our tribute to him and his story. Inspired by the traditional lunghi, this modern version features a straight leg cut and wrap closure to keep it movement-friendly for all occasions.
Model wears Matter Size 1. 175cm tall.
Long fabric belt for easy wrap around to streamline a subtle silhouette. Designed with a seamless side profile, and finished with a buttoned welt pocket on the back for functionality. 100% medium weight cotton.
Selectively bundled and dyed by hand with azo-free dyes, the threads are then handloomed. Colour and weaving variations may occur, as it is a part of its charm.
Wash separately the first few washes to prevent colour runs. After that, machine wash with similar colours. For best results, handwash cold or use delicate machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Line dry inside-out. Cool iron inside-out.
It's very versatile & cute! I can dress it up for work or more recently I've paired it with a crop top for an easy and stylish day out. And it kept me cool in that in that muggy, hot New York summer. Love it!
Has the issue with the baggy crotch been revised with the garment? I would love to purchase these.
I got this as a gift and was extremely disappointed. Please take Kate's feedback into consideration before getting the pants. I really loved the pattern and my previous 3 Matter pants were great, but the fit of this pants was really weird at the crotch area. No matter how I tied it (there are three possible ways), it just looked like there's a bulge. My sis has the blue one and it fits fine, so she got this for me.
This is my second pair of pants in this style. I have them in size 1 in the navy version, and they’re perfect. For some reason, the crutch is bulky and odd looking in these, so I haven’t been wearing them much (though if I tie them up behind me instead of in front, it improves things a bit). Not sure what happened here.
