The Work Jumpsuit + Mystic Mountain
From its design to the final pattern, this style was 15 months in its making. We wanted something to go above and beyond the travel-ready bathroom-friendly requirement. Introducing: The Work Jumpsuit. Block-printed on organic cotton, the Mystic Mountain motif draws inspiration from the mystic geometric patterns of the worshipping seats used in Kumaon that mark the different stages of life – right from birth to eternity.
The top of the jumpsuit is a wrap style, meaning its fit is completely adjustable to your body. Plus it comes with a button closure just in case you want a little more coverage. The pants are the same silhouette you know and love from the Classic Wideleg; deep pockets hidden along the seams for functionality, and a four-button closure to ensure flexibility of wearing. 100% organic cotton. Dyed with azo-free dyes.
Wash separately in first few washes to prevent colour runs. After that, machine wash with similar colours. For best results, handwash cold or use delicate machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Line dry inside out. Cool iron inside-out.
At first, I was little bit hesitant with this jumpsuit, but I ordered it since I thought that it would be easy to style both office and weekend looks. Boy, I'm glad I did! This is probably my favorite thing I own now. The material is super comfortable, and I think the overall style is just fun.
I thought the jumpsuit fit very well. I'm 5 ft 8 in/172.7 cm, around 130 pounds/59 kg, and pear shaped. I ordered the size 1.
-It definitely took me a second to figure out how this was going to fit. Don't see this being an issue moving forward.
-There is no option to completely detach the top (part of it is sewn into the pants). Since the top is a wrap style, this means that its easy to get on/off, but there will definitely be a little exposure every time I use the bathroom. Again, I don't see this being an issue but it's worth mentioning.
-As another reviewer mentioned, this would be a breastfeeding-friendly piece thanks to the wrap style.
-I have a relatively small/medium sized chest, and found the wrap style to be very forgiving and fit nicely. If I had a larger chest, the fit would still work but there would be more cleavage/skin showing. Something to keep in mind if buying for a conservative and/or work environment.
-I had no issues with the armholes; its a good fit with no worries about my bra showing through.
-Love the details on the back.
-I wore the pants on the tightest buttons and found this was the best fit at my natural waist. I like the flexibility of being able to adjust the fit.
-This won't provide the same fit as a pair of pants made out of stiffer material, e.g. denim or canvas, but I still found it very flattering overall.
-The length was perfect for me! It hit right at the top of my foot/ankle. This means that if you're taller, this will have a more cropped look, similar to how the Classic Wideleg pant is styled on this site. If you're shorter, you may need to hem or cuff the pants.
Very happy with my first purchase from Matter :)
I love Matter clothes and have made a decision to buy less and buy ethical only.
I love the material of this. Great colours and texture. The organic cotton for the Work jumpsuit was so so soft and the colour of the romper were really vivid.
However the fit of the romper wasn’t great. I had to shorten the straps but the back was still not brilliant.
The work suit fit better but it’s too small for my boobs! But the wrap style works well.
Overall I would buy again for the quality and ethics but please Matter look into fit or ways of adjusting the fit for us curvy ladies !
This is such a stunning jumpsuit - I'm so glad I purchased it! I was on the fence for a while but I love the design and the fact that it is breastfeeding friendly!
I'm 169 and typically wear size 10 or 12. The pants fit me very nicely. love the entire look as well. The armhole is really too big but can make do with a few stitching to make it smaller.
Great fabric and print! Could improve in the fit and cut
